iJAG's Career Development Conference – April 21st

Every year, at the end of April, iJAG hosts its Career Development Conference (CDC) exclusively for members of iJAG’s Career Association. This event involves approximately 300 students as well as over 100 volunteers and business leaders.  The CDC gives the soon-to-graduate students an exciting jump start on the “real world” by offering mock job interviews, a “Marketplace” showcasing Iowa employers and a number of competitive and fun events. The competitions provide the Career Association members the opportunity to celebrate their achievements in community service and distinction in career readiness. The students are recognized for excellence in resume writing, public speaking and decision making.  The highlight of the CDC is the involvement of Iowa businesses such as State Farm, Mid American Energy, Iowa Department of Economic Development, Kemin Industries and Hy-Vee. These businesses provide volunteers who judge competitions, host personal development workshops and provide an opportunity for Career Association members to interact with Iowa employers.
