Leadership Development Conference: It Starts with Us!

The iJAG Leadership Development Conference (LDC) sponsored by the Wellmark Foundation was held in Des Moines at the Iowa Events Center on November 3. The event hosted nearly 1,100 students from across the state who were recently elected by their peers to serve as a local Career Association officer! 

“It Starts with Us!”  was the theme selected by the State Career Association as a way to empower the new class of iJAG leaders. Attendees represented a variety of local officer positions including: President, Vice Presidents of Career Development, Civic Awareness, Community Service, Leadership Development, Social Awareness and Secretary/Treasurer. The event delivered role-specific and age-appropriate training, skill-building and planning workshops for middle school and high school students across all 155 iJAG programs. 

Other event highlights included a live election for 2024-2025 State Career Association officers and a special $25,000 check presentation from The Regions Foundation, the nonprofit entity for Regions Bank.
